Livernois Powder Coating
LLC can polish items that are aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass, and
carbon steel. We offer high-quality and fast turnaround on our buffing and
polishing services.
Metal polishing, also known as buffing, is the process of smoothing metals and
alloys and polishing to a bright, smooth, mirror-like finish. Metal polishing is
often used to enhance cars, motorcycles, ATV's, and antiques.
Generally this is a multi-stage process. Abrasives are applied at high speed to
remove surface defects like pits, nicks, lines and scratches from the articles
to be buffed. Cotton mops are used to give a mirror-like finish to the items.
Once the polishing is complete, we can apply a clear top coat to provide a
maintenance free shine. Please note that applying the clear top coat will
minimally reduce the shine/luster of the original polished piece.
Pricing for buffing and polishing varies based on size, condition, type of
metal/alloy, etc. Please contact us today for a custom quote.
Flywheel
Cover from a Suzuki ATV
This flywheel cover was polished, unfortunately there were some pretty deep
scratches that couldn't be removed.
Candy Blue was then applied to the "SUZUKI" lettering, and a clear top coat
applied for easy maintenance.
Polished
Motorcycle Frame on GSXR 750
The entire frame was polished on this motorcycle using the techniques listed
above.
This is a project that takes some time, but you can see that its well worth it.
Flywheel
Cover for a Honda ATV
This is what the flywheel cover looked like when I received it.
This photo shows the flywheel cover after it was polished with the techniques
listed above.
Although the polished piece has a very high luster, it requires frequent
cleaning and up keep to maintain this shine.
This is the final product.
The "HONDA" lettering has Candy Blue and the entire piece has a top clear coat
applied for low maintenance.
